ALKAN® Venüs Small

Venüs Small

140–200 W · 20,300–30,000 lm · IP66

Why this luminaire

Even light on the carriageway, little load on the pole

A street meets its lighting class only when the light lands evenly, and a pole carries only so much. Venüs Small is built around both limits: an asymmetric optic directs the light onto the carriageway, and a low-profile body with a wind area (EPA) of 0.15 m² keeps the sail load small. Output runs from 20,300 to 30,000 lm at 140–155 lm/W, so one luminaire covers urban streets, collector roads and open car parks. Every project is calculated to EN 13201 in DIALux evo.

Built for the job

Die-cast aluminium body

The housing is the heat sink: cooling fins integrated into the cover draw heat away from the LEDs, protecting light output and lifetime.

4 mm clear tempered glass

The tempered glass seals the optic from weather and wipes clean, so the street stays close to its designed light level.

IP66

Rated IP66 (EN 60529): dust-tight and protected against powerful water jets.

IK09 · IK08

Impact resistance to EN 62262: IK09 on the body, IK08 on the glass.

−40 °C to +50 °C

Rated for ambient temperatures from −40 °C to +50 °C, from mountain passes to coastal roads in summer.

184–264 VAC

A wide supply window: 184–264 VAC at 50/60 Hz.

60,000 hours

LED lifetime of 60,000 hours keeps visits to the pole to a minimum.

Colour rendering Ra>70

Ra>70 in 3000 K, 4000 K or 6500 K: warm white for residential streets, neutral white for main roads.

Where it fits

Streets and roads

Urban streets, collector roads and through roads.

Residential areas

Residential streets, paths and cycle routes.

Car parks and squares

Open car parks, squares and public spaces.

Road lighting classes

M classes

Per EN 13201: motorised traffic on roads with medium to high driving speeds; based on road surface luminance.

C classes

For conflict areas such as junctions, roundabouts and shopping streets; based on illuminance.

P classes

For pedestrians and cyclists on footways, cycle paths and low-speed residential streets; based on illuminance.

Engineering notes

Mounting

Tilt adjusts in 0°, 5°, 10° and 15° steps on a Ø42–60 mm spigot. Pole height, spacing and tilt come from the EN 13201 calculation.

Choosing the optic

The asymmetric optic comes in mid-power and high-power LED versions. We compare them in DIALux evo against your geometry and pick the one that reaches the target with the fewest luminaires.

Controls

No dimming interface is specified for this luminaire. If your project needs one, we check the options with the manufacturer before we quote.

Maintenance

A latched cover and blade terminals give safe access for maintenance. Clean the glass periodically to hold the designed light levels; the calculation already includes a maintenance factor.

Certification and standards

CE: the manufacturer’s EC declaration of conformity under Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (January 2025) names the AKYAL series.

ENEC: licence HN 69291507 from TÜV Rheinland InterCert for 53.AKYAL xxxV-y, 140–200 W.

CB test certificate DE 2-043965 (TÜV Rheinland LGA, 2025-02-20) for 53.AKYAL xxxV-y (IEC 60598-2-3).

Coverage is stated as published by ALKAN®. Certificate copies come with every offer.

Standards: EN 60598-1, EN 60598-2-3.

Datasheets for every variant are in the variants table on this page; LDT/IES photometric files are available on request.

Questions we hear

Can it replace my existing luminaires?

In most retrofit projects, yes. We check the existing mounting points and the target values in a calculation before we quote, so you know the result in advance.

What tolerances apply to these values?

Tolerances: power +2.5%, luminous flux −10%, efficacy −5%. Our calculations take this into account.
